Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for manufacturing, energy production, or product development.
  • Conduct research and experiments to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase safety and sustainability.
  • Perform process simulations and modeling to predict outcomes and design efficient systems.
  • Analyze and interpret data to recommend adjustments to production parameters and systems.
  • Collaborate with R&D, operations, and quality control teams to scale up pilot processes to full production.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including flow diagrams, process descriptions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all processes and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues, implementing continuous improvement strategies.
  • Monitor process performance and contribute to efforts to reduce costs, improve yields, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact chemical engineering processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in chemical engineering, process design, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD software for designing systems and equipment.
  • Experience with process optimization, scale-up, and cost analysis in an industrial setting.
  • Solid understanding of chemical process safety, environmental regulations, and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead projects from concept through execution.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Experience in food & beverage industry is a plus.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with advanced chemical engineering tools, including process control and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices and green chemistry principles.
  • Project management experience or certifications (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is an advantage.
